Encore: Vox Nativa Children’s Choir USA Tour

Published by Editor July 29, 2016

In July 2013, Taiwan Vox Nativa Children’s Choir visited the United States for the first time in Northern and Southern California. With the support of many generous organizations and individuals, the journey was a huge success; The children attended and visited many events and locations in California and they were able to spread joy to their audiences in North America at the concerts.
They are returning for a tour of five cities in the US in 2016.

The story of Taiwanese aboriginals is similar to indigenous communities throughout the world. The once proud and glorious communities now harbor strong feelings of inferiority, hopelessness, and apathy which creates a vicious cycle of poverty.

Vox Nativa believes that instilling confidence within the youngest generation is the key to breaking the vicious cycle and the key to social reform.

Founded in 2008, Vox Nativa is a nonprofit special weekend music school with two main objectives:

1) To achieve social reform within the poverty stricken aboriginal populations and communities through cultivation of gifted aboriginal children.

2) To preserve and promote aboriginal culture, pride, and identity through a children’s choir group.

Children of Vox Nativa range from 9 years old to 13 years old and have one thing in common – they are aboriginal children who earn top of the class grades despite coming from low income families.

Congratulations to VOX Nativa in the achievement for having the alumni of the choir going to college this year.
Best Wishes for the endeavor.

Posted on July 9, 2014 by New York Times

Argentina converted all four of its penalty kicks in a shootout against the Netherlands on Wednesday in São Paulo to advance to the World Cup for the first time since 1990.

Lionel Messi made the first and his teammates Ezequiel Garay, Sergio Aguero and Maxi Rodriguez followed suit to earn Argentina a date with Germany in Sunday’s final in Rio de Janeiro. The Netherlands missed two of their first three attempts, with first Ron Vlaar and then Wesley Sneijder seeing their shots saved by Argentina’s goalkeeper, Sergio Romero.

Messi has been superb, scoring four goals and carrying his team through arid moments. Coach Alejandro Sabella has called him “our water in the desert.”

May 24, 2012 | By Joe Burris, The Baltimore Sun

North County High School freshman Jack Andraka stood on the auditorium stage, speaking about the invention that earned him the $75,000 grand prize at the recent Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (2012).

Behind him stood Dr. Anirban Maitra, a professor in the Johns Hopkins University’s department of pathology who gave Jack use of his lab to craft his invention, a cheap and effective “dipstick-sensor” method of testing blood or urine to identify early-stage pancreatic cancer and other diseases.
